1 Soak the chickpeas overnight. 2 Drain the chickpeas. 3 Combine the chickpeas, onions, garlic, parsley, and hot pepper. 4 Grind the mixture twice. 5 Add salt, pepper, cumin, and baking powder. 6 Mix thoroughly. 7 When ready to fry the falafel, add baking soda. 8 Shape the mixture into patties 1 ½ inches in diameter and ½ inch thick. 9 Deep fry the patties until they’re golden brown. |
